Health and safety measures introduced by Visionstream’s Network Operations Centre (NOC) are helping to keep our people and communities free from harm around the clock.

The measures address a range of safety risks including break-ins at critical infrastructure sites, driver fatigue and hazardous weather.

One such example is the implementation of a 24-hour video monitoring initiative. NOC operators are now monitoring the safety of employees at certain client sites following a series of break-ins, and also provide a similar service for Visionstream’s Melbourne office day and night.

The Centre has also automated the 24/7 journey management system that monitors the wellbeing of individuals and teams by sending SMS alerts every two hours during periods of continuous travel. Over 60,000 journeys have been logged over the past 12 months and vehicle-related incidents have reduced since fatigue-management systems were introduced.

The monitoring of weather patterns across Australia is another way in which the NOC team keeps employees safe. The Centre issues early emergency warning notifications for cyclones, uncontrolled bushfires and other potentially life-threatening events via SMS to our field workforce across Australia in real-time.

By putting the wellbeing and safety of our people and our communities at the centre of everything they do, the NOC team provides a vital service to our organisation.

The good news is, they don’t just provide their services to Visionstream – any Ventia project with an in-field workforce can utilise the NOC.
