The Brisbane Motorway Services team in Queensland, Australia possess a genuine hunger for innovation which drives everything they do.
In looking for ways to maintain safe lane availability, the team developed an in-house designed and constructed Traffic Offender Detection System, which detects incursions by members of the public. The low-cost solution now helps protect sub-contractors working on site during maintenance road closures.
The Traffic Safety Net is another in-house solution. Designed to look like a police vehicle from a distance, it acts as a visible deterrent to motorists, preventing them from entering a closed site. Costing just $200 to produce, the net has significantly reduced the costs associated with traffic control.
The team’s constant quest to improve service delivery has helped support a safer working environment with zero incursions, zero lost time injuries, zero traffic complaints and zero requirement to work in and around a live traffic environment.
This constant focus on safety and innovation has led to 27 client and industry awards.
