SHOWING INITIATIVE IN SUPPORTING THE TEAM TO WORK SMARTER

When the Infrastructure Maintenance team took over the contract for Sydney’s Lane Cove Tunnel and the M2 Hills Motorway, they knew they had to get up to speed fast.

Faced with stringent performance targets from the get-go, the team’s challenge was to build a culture that would ensure client expectations would be met.

Enter Huimin Moore, an Asset Engineer and relative newcomer to Ventia. After carefully analysing the KPI (key performance indicator) regime and how this translated into the client’s own performance records, Huimin put in place processes to ensure targets would be achieved.

Without hesitation, Huimin took over the development of monthly reporting processes to ensure all required information is submitted to the client on time and to expected standards. Despite a challenging first year on the contract, the results were recognised by the client leading to a performance payment.

Huimin’s approachable nature and focus on ensuring the team enjoy the work they do has allowed her to quickly gain the respect of other team members and foster a culture of high performance.

The recognition we have received from our client is testament to the culture that has been created and Huimin’s own outstanding contributions.
