With a year under their belt, the Gender Diversity Working Group has made good progress in driving diversity and inclusion outcomes at Ventia.

The 17-member Gender Diversity Working Group consists of volunteers from across the business.

They are dispersed geographically but united by their dedication and clear vision for our business – to be known for diversity of talent, the equal treatment of people and as a preferred place to work.

In the past 12 months, achievements include:

  • rolling out unconscious bias training to senior managers
  • introducing a training program with targeted activities and learnings for our high potential female talent
  • providing quarterly dashboard reporting on levels of gender representation across the business
    supporting International Women’s Day; and
  • aligning Ventia’s strategies and initiatives with the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA).

Mark Norton, Executive General Manager of Visionstream and the Working Group’s inaugural chair, was full of praise for the Working Group. “We have some incredible people who have worked tirelessly to make a difference,” he said.

“Many have conflicting interests balancing work and the Gender Diversity Working Group, but they turn up, tune in and make the time to ensure that we see improvements. They do this because they care and its simply the right thing to do.”

“I’m proud of everything they have achieved to date and also wish Fiona McDougall well as she takes the reign on the Chair role,” added Mark.
