Visionstream has been supporting Telstra to connect Australians living in rural and remote parts of the country to faster mobile voice and data services since 2015. As part of the Australian Government’s investment in the Mobile Black Spot Program, these improved connections ensure greater access to online education and health services and promote participation in the digital economy.
Our specialist Communications Wireless team focuses exclusively on the delivery of the program, led by Project Manager Aaron Hu along with Senior Project Engineer Naveen Seevaratnam, Site Acquisition and Design Manager Andrew Dunn, Construction Manager Nathan Smith, and Transmission Senior Project Engineer Phi Co-Tan. They have built and commissioned more than 170 ‘black spot’ wireless towers nationally to-date.
“We are proud to be working with Telstra to deliver much needed mobile connections to parts of regional Australia,” said Aaron. “This is also significant when you think about the benefits improved access to technology provides these communities and regional industries like agriculture, transport, mining and tourism.”
Often operating in challenging locations, the Communications Wireless team have been working to find and implement efficiencies within the site acquisition and construction cycle to enable shorter end-to-end delivery and cost savings – a win for both the community and Telstra.
The team have established a reputation for successfully delivering project after project and seeking out innovative design solutions. Telstra have recently awarded additional Black Spot sites to Visionstream.
