In this edition of Connect we celebrate the outstanding achievements of our people in the second year of the Ventia Awards.

The Awards are our way of recognising individuals and teams who have displayed leadership and excellence throughout the year. These people have lived the Ventia values, inspired confidence amongst our clients and their customers and made a difference in the communities in which we work.

Congratulations to all our finalists and to the hundreds of people nominated from across the business.

As you read about the finalists on the following pages, I hope you are inspired by their commitment and professionalism as they go above and beyond to make infrastructure work in our communities.

Their stories highlight some of our key achievements on projects during 2018. From OPS-1 in Darwin to Sydney Water, and the Ventia Boral Amey Joint Venture in Queensland, to the range of exciting projects and relationships Visionstream continues to build in New Zealand and Australia.

I am also proud that so many of our finalists were recognised by clients for their efforts and achievements.

We all have a role to play in delivering on our purpose and I am personally appreciative of all the hard work put in by everyone.

Working together, safety and health remains our number one priority. I’ve been particularly impressed with the effort and dedication shown across our projects and offices to implement the Critical Risk Protocols and ensure they become embedded in our safety culture.

I encourage you to stay focused on safety and health as you go about your work and as you enjoy time with family and friends over the New Year break. I’d also like to recognise and thank our colleagues working throughout the holiday period and supporting critical community infrastructure.
